Generate a new certificate

Put the key & certificate combo under the backend root directory by default

openssl req -nodes -new -x509 -keyout server.key -out server.cert

Self-signed Certificate to Trusted Store

Linux

1. Copy the certificate to the /usr/local/share/ca-certificates/ directory
2. Update the CA store: sudo update-ca-certificates

Mac

1. Open Keychain Access and select the System keychain
2. Drag and drop your certificate file into Keychain Access
3. Double-click the certificate, expand the "Trust" section, and set "When using this certificate" to "Always Trust"

Windows

1. Open Microsoft Management Console
